After passing their skilled worker examination, the aspiring wooden toy makers and woodturners are officially recognized as part of a long-standing tradition following their three-year, intensive training. This special moment marks the beginning of a new chapter in their professional lives. At the same time, through their craftsmanship, ideas, and passion, they carry a piece of the Erzgebirge’s artisanal tradition into the future.

This year, Max-Leon from our workshop was delighted to receive his skilled worker certificate. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to him and are thrilled to welcome him to our team as a wooden toy maker.

At the same time, we warmly welcome Till. He began his apprenticeship as a woodturner in our workshop this week. We wish him much joy as he learns and applies the diverse techniques of woodworking.

Sophie is already in her second year of apprenticeship, training to become a wooden toy maker with us. Through the apprenticeship network, at the vocational school in Seiffen, and of course in our Eppendorf workshop, she is mastering the diverse techniques that define Erzgebirgisches Kunsthandwerk®.

Apprenticeship training has held a firm and important place in our workshop for many years. Training young people involves a considerable investment of time and organizational effort on our part and consistently presents us with major challenges. Nevertheless, we see it as an important investment in the future of our industry.

We are happy to take on this effort because it is important to us to pass on our knowledge and experience and to provide young people with a solid education. Only in this way can we ensure, in the long term, that well-trained and dedicated skilled workers are available for our industry.
